Class 5: [1] Guest Steve Whalley discussing USB; [2] Research projects status update and discussion
You may have seen the “Our Rock Stars Aren’t Like Your Rock Stars” ad by Intel, featuring USB co-inventor Ajay Bhatt (actually an actor playing him). One of the other 4 co-inventors is Steve Whalley — you can see him in this video, at the two minute mark. Steve is going to come in and talk with us on Monday about USB. You may find it valuable to review the business strategy material we discussed in connection with Class 3, and think about questions you’d like to ask Steve about why and how a company pursues a standards strategy.
Additionally, we will do a roundtable discussion where I will ask each of you to provide a status update about your research project. At a minimum, please be able to describe your precise research question and your plans for how to answer that question.
