I created a quick-and-dirty literature review in that attempted to list and categorize academic articles on standards produced between January 2005 and August 2009. That attempt can be found here (.pdf). I’ve subsequently discovered some omissions, and there have been some more recent articles that should be added. I’ll publish an updated version here as soon as available.
